Introducing Bitty Dots

Every day Papertrey Ink introduces a new product prior to their monthly release. Because this is their second anniversary, there have been all kinds of special announcements and new releases. Today was the introduction of polka dot papers and ribbons. I love polka dots, especially the itty bitty ones. So here's a card for today's challenge which was based on a dot-to-dot sketch.

Products: Papertrey raspberry fizz paper and ink. A flower from their Floral Frenzy set, and a patterned paper from the Black and White Basics collection. The "love" stamp which I've had for ages has no company identification on it.

Cards and a Challenge

Although I have a long list of layouts I want to do, I don't seem to have had much motivation for scrapping recently. I have been keeping up with the card-a-day project I hoped to do this year. Some days I make several; most days I make at least one. Today's card is for a challenge at Papertrey Ink, my favorite stamp company.

Since I had all but one of the cardstock colors I decided to join in. Here's my "entry."

I'm not so happy with the sharpness of this photo, but the card is already in an envelope for my niece's birthday. This is another Papertrey Ink card--new stamp set (so versatile), raspberry fizz cardstock, and
Black & White Basics patterned paper.

Project 365 Layouts: Weeks 4 & 5

It was a good day. I finished two hybrid layouts, both using the same template I downloaded for free from KylieM Designs. It worked well with both sets of photos which really didn't require any journaling. Since I caption all the photos in the photo blog, I feel less compulsive about the journaling here. This was a layered template which I find much easier to use than the frame I used for Week 3. After it was done, I resized it to 8X8 and put it on cardstock. I'm a much happier girl with a little texture and a bit of embellishment.

After a session on the treadmill and a yoga class, I took off with my camera to Powder Mill Park. I'm not sure I got any stellar shots, but I'm enjoying the switch to manual mode and finding it easier and easier to set both the aperture and shutter speed. Not as quickly as I'd like, but getting there. I'm so sick of being inside, it was great to spend some time in the outdoors. Hopefully the photos will get edited tomorrow.

Project 365: Week 5

Here are my two favorite photos from this week. The rest are posted in the Photo-a-Day log on the sidebar, although four of them don't show up on the calendar. I don't have a clue why that happened and have sent a ticket off to Typepad for some help.

I'm buying pears every week. I have a great new recipe for baked pears with craisins, walnuts, and blue cheese. Delicious!

This reminded me of a dragonfly--with a heavy load.
