HS: MS prompt today:
Chill - A coolness in the air, a reduction in temperature, the onset of a cold or just plain chillin' out!
HS: MS prompt for today: Cup - A small bowl shaped container usually for holding liquids. Show us a cup in your space today.

I found this cute little cup at Anthropologie when I was visiting Sarah in Princeton. It's just the right size to hold little odds and ends that I may want to use on the next project. I have a passion for red cups, tins, whatever. If I had room in my tiny study, I'd have a whole collection of things like this.
HS: MS prompt--Balance: An even distribution of weight enabling someone or something to remain upright and steady or creating stability in your own mind. Find balance in your space today.

Driving to work today, I was thinking about this prompt and came up with this idea. Thanks to Rob, I have a photo to offer!
Despite my best intentions, I haven't managed to keep up with the Her Space: My Space prompts. But here are most from last week:
SPS:
Self portrait / Someone Else portrait...show us a portrait today!!!!

I'm trying to learn how to use the manual setting on my Rebel. This was one of my first attempts this weekend. Matt let me take a few shots before he headed back to campus after his week here for spring break. I'm pretty pleased with the results.
Dress: A one piece item of clothing for girlies - have you got a dress?

Yes, I still have dresses, but nothing like this. I recently found a pile of photos from my childhood. My mother wrote "Ready for Sunday School" on the back of the photo.
Cloth: A piece of fabric or material or clergy attire (would love to see a pic of that!). Have you got cloth?

Before I got into paper crafting and photography I was an active seamstress. That seems like a long time ago now. I rarely use my sewing machine for much other than mending and stitching on cards and layouts. These are piece of fabric that came in a scrapbook kit--can't remember which one.
Books: Bounded collection of pages or to determine a reservation - give us books!

The only rooms in our house without books are the dining room and the bathrooms. There are piles and shelves full in every other room. Many have been read, but an equal number are waiting to be read!
Blanket: Fabric sheeting to cover, warm and disguise. We all have blankets - which is your favourite?

This is not fabric, but hand-made and brought to us directly from Ireland when a dear friend of ours spent a semester studying there. It's frequently in use in our somewhat drafty living room.
Her Space: My Space Self Portrait Saturday or Someone Else's Portrait Saturday...you choose what (or who) you want to show !
A portrait of my daughter taken during our last visit a month ago. I played around with the Effects in the iPhoto program. Can't decide whether I like this one or the original.

The original:

Her Space: My Space prompt: Seeds -A plants power of reproduction. Find some 'seeds' in your space today!
Monday my class planted terrariums which eventually will house crickets and isopods as part of a science unit called Ecosystems. Here are the seeds ready to be picked up by the kids:
HS: MS prompt for today: Relief - Creating a mold that stands out from it's surface.
I acquired this after my father passed away. It belonged to one of my great aunts or great-grandmother. There's no one to tell me exactly who. I certainly don't use it to iron, but I do use it to weigh down paper projects, and it works great. When I saw today's prompt, I had no idea what to photograph, but as I was looking for something else I saw the pattern on the handle and the "6." I love it when a prompt makes you look at every day things with new eyes.
I'm not quite sure where all the time has gone. There were the NYS Math tests to get ready for and give. They, thankfully, were over on Friday. And then I have contracted the third upper-respiratory infection since Christmas which doesn't leave me with a lot of extra energy at the end of the day. Before I go to bed, I hope to have my photo-a-day blog updated. For now, here are a few prompts from Her Space: My Space this week that I am finally uploading:
Today's SOS: The view from our doorway a week ago, and looking up our street yesterday. We got another foot of snow this weekend. By this time in March, I am ready for spring, but I guess not.

Badge: Insignia to advertise, show membership of or make a statement with. Have you got a badge?
Yep, I do. For just a few more months though!

Jar: A wide-mouthed container made of glass or pot to contain food. Show us a 'jar' in your space.
Actually mine don't have very wide mouths, but they're pretty!

Fluff: Soft fibers that accumulate in small clumps. Find a bit of 'fluff' in your space today :)
Lots of this fluff here.

Maybe this week I can keep up!

Richard Russo: Bridge of Sighs
Everyone in my book group (men & women alike) enjoyed Russo's new tale.
Joshua Henkin: Matrimony: A Novel
It took me a couple of chapters to get into this book, but once I did I couldn't put it down.
Dalia Sofer: The Septembers of Shiraz
Compelling story, beautifully written.
Khaled Hosseini: A Thousand Splendid Suns
Another wonderful, but heartbreaking story about Afganistan. Makes one so grateful to be a woman in the United States.
