More fall goodies:
It's rainbow week at HS: MS. Following our rainbow theme this week, Orange comes next in the rainbow to Red. Show us Orange in your space.
Today's challenge at HS: MS is a color challenge: RED--my favorite color. And here are my cute, new, shiny red shoes that I bought last weekend when I was shopping with Sarah. I might have passed them up, but Sarah quickly listed a variety of outfits I could wear them with. So glad she did. I love these shoes. They're comfy, too!
When I was growing up in rural Ohio, Blue Laws were a fact of life. No stores were open on Sunday, and I remember being somewhat shocked when things changed. (Can't remember when that was, however.) But now Sunday is just another day when I can run errands, go to the mall, whatever. Very few stores are closed--in our area, Aldi's is the only one that comes to mind. So when Tracy suggested that Sarah and I could meet Sunday at the Paramus, NJ mall to have lunch and shop, it never crossed my mind that the stores might be closed. But closed they were, and was I ever shocked! I hadn't expected to see Sarah until Thanksgiving, and I was so looking forward to this unexpected treat. Thank goodness for cell phones!! Sarah was just on her way from Princeton and was able to tell me how to get to the Menlo Park mall. We had a great lunch at The Cheesecake Factory, and a very successful afternoon of shopping. Best of all, I got to spend some time with Sarah.
Today's prompt from HS: MS is perfect.
The third season of the year. Show us 'Autumn' in your space today.
We spent Saturday in Manchester, VT. These photos (I couldn't choose just one) were taken at the Southern Vermont Arts Center.

More about our fabulous weekend when I get home.

Richard Russo: Bridge of Sighs
Everyone in my book group (men & women alike) enjoyed Russo's new tale.
Joshua Henkin: Matrimony: A Novel
It took me a couple of chapters to get into this book, but once I did I couldn't put it down.
Dalia Sofer: The Septembers of Shiraz
Compelling story, beautifully written.
Khaled Hosseini: A Thousand Splendid Suns
Another wonderful, but heartbreaking story about Afganistan. Makes one so grateful to be a woman in the United States.
